Lagundi
(Vitex negundo Linn) is the name of a bush that grows in the volcanic
soil of the Philippines. Lagundi (pronounced “la GOON dee”) promotes
healthy breathing and is known for its distinctive leaves and taste.
Lagundi leaves grow in clusters of five; each is elongated, giving the
appearance of green, droopy stars. Lagundi’s taste is stimulating and
peppermint-like. Our company was the first U.S. company to sell
lagundi. Lagundi is considered an old dietary ingredient by the FDA.
In the Philippines, lagundi has been certified as an indigenous,
health-promoting plant by the Philippine Department of Health.
